Today seemed a real media game changer. The exchange between Bush, Obama and McCain has captivated the media, who seem to finally have drama to replace the long primary.
Obama's strong reply in South Dakota was important for rallying anti-Bush sentiment. If we turn McCain into Bush III, Obama wins easily.
It is also interesting to watch the media and see how they "take sides" now that it's Obama vs. McCain. It's too early to know definitively, but I'm hugely encouraged by the overall coverage of this latest back and forth. Obama clearly had the better argument, and the media didn't shirk from that.
